VET DSS
Scoresby Secondary College offers the opportunity for Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or VCE Vocational Major students to concurrently undertake either Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation or Certificate III in Music (Performance) while studying at Scoresby Secondary College in senior years.
Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation
The VCE VET Sport and Recreation program aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to achieve competencies that will enhance their employment prospects in the Sport, Aquatics and Recreation, related industries. It also aims to enable participants to gain a recognised credential and to make a more informed choice of vocation or career path.
Over the 2 years of the course students will gain knowledge and hands on experience in how to:
- Participate in workplace health and safety
- Provide quality service
- Respond to emergency situations
- Maintain activity equipment
- Maintain sport, fitness, and recreation industry knowledge
- Provide first aid
- Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Participate in conditioning for sport
- Organize personal work priorities
- Continuously improve officiating skills and knowledge
- Respond to interpersonal conflict
- Conduct sport coaching sessions with foundation level participants
- Participate in WHS hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
- Facilitate Groups
- Deliver recreation programs

Certificate III in Music (Performance)
The VCE VET Music program aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills that will enhance their employment prospects in the music or music-related industries and enable participants to gain a recognised credential and to make a more informed choice of vocation or career paths.
Over the 2 years of the course students will gain knowledge and hands on experience in how to:
- Work effectively in the Music Industry
- Implement copyright arrangements
- Plan a career in the creative arts industry
- Incorporate music technology into performance
- Make a music demo
- Perform simple repertoire in ensembles
- Develop technical skills for musical performances
- Prepare for musical performances
- Develop and perform musical improvisation
- Develop & maintain stagecraft skills
- Perform music as part of a group
